DRINKING WATER FROM TAP AND ACHIEVING ZERO DISCHARGE
GIFT City has implemented smart and sustainable water infrastructure that serves as a lifeline for the entire development. Comprehensive water management covers the full urban water cycle - from supply to distribution, collection, treatment, recycling and reuse.
Water supply begins at Water Treatment Plant (WTP) using modern treatment methods. Treated water is then distributed via an automated network of pipes to all premises 24x7. Distribution has automated monitoring for pressure and flow management, and quality checks.
On the collection side, the STP cleans influent through biological and filtration processes in steps. A dedicated underground sewage corridor channels effluent to the STP.
Further treatment disinfects outgoing water to enable recycling and reuse for district cooling, flushing, and gardening. This reuse combined with process optimization helps GIFT align with zero liquid discharge norms for sustainable development.
An overarching automation and control system enables real-time monitoring and automation. Smart meters track consumption. In effect, the comprehensive design supports both environmental needs as well as quality of life for economic growth.
